GCSE and IGCSE Past Papers, by Exam Board and Subject

Find the right past papers fast: pick a subject, then your exam board, and you go straight to that board’s official papers and mark schemes. We link to each board’s own pages rather than hosting copies, so you always get the current versions. IGCSE families will find Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel International papers under each subject too.

How to use past papers well

Past papers work best as a feedback loop, not a pile to get through.

  1. 1

Check the board and the code first

Ask the school which board and specification your child sits. Papers from a different board or an old specification test different content and use a different mark scheme.

  2. 2

Revise a topic before you test it

A paper shows what is missing, it does not teach it. Start with single questions on topics already covered, then move to full papers once most of the course is done.

  3. 3

Sit full papers under real conditions

Use the real time limit, no notes, and only the calculator or equipment allowed. Running out of time is a skill problem worth finding before the real exam.

  4. 4

Mark with the official mark scheme

Mark strictly against the board’s scheme. Look at where the marks go (method, units, key terms, quotations) as well as whether the final answer is right.

  5. 5

    Read the examiner report

Examiner reports explain where students lost marks on each question. A few minutes with the report after a paper can save the same marks next time.

  6. 6

Keep an error log and come back

Note each lost mark by topic and by reason (knowledge, method, misreading). Redo those questions a week or two later rather than moving straight to a new paper.

  7. 7

Save the newest papers for last

Keep the most recent series you can get for final mocks close to the exam, when a realistic score matters most.

Why the newest paper may be missing

Boards release papers to schools first and to the public later, so the latest series is often only available through your child’s teacher. Here is how each board handles it.

AQA (GCSE)
Most papers, mark schemes and examiner reports stay on the public site for three years; teachers get the newest series earlier through Centre Services. Past papers page(opens in a new tab)
Pearson Edexcel (GCSE)
Papers are free to download, but the newest series stays padlocked for teachers at registered centres for a period after the exam. Past papers page(opens in a new tab)
OCR (GCSE)
The most recent series needs a Teach Cambridge login; earlier series (five years, up to ten for maths and the sciences) are on the open site. Past papers page(opens in a new tab)
WJEC (GCSE)
For schools in Wales. Papers reach teachers on the secure Portal first and the public site later. The new made-for-Wales GCSEs (taught from September 2025) have sample papers until their first exams, so links below go to the pages that hold real past papers. Past papers page(opens in a new tab)
Eduqas (GCSE)
Each subject page has a past papers tab; teachers see papers earlier on the secure Portal before they are published on the public site. Past papers page(opens in a new tab)
Cambridge (CAIE) (IGCSE)
Public subject pages carry a selection of papers; the full archive is on the School Support Hub for registered Cambridge schools. Past papers page(opens in a new tab)
Pearson Edexcel International (IGCSE)
International GCSE papers are locked for the first nine months after a series and need an Edexcel Online login until then. Past papers page(opens in a new tab)

Need help with past papers?

A tutor can go through a marked paper with your child, find the topics that cost the most marks and plan what to practise next, for the exact board and specification they sit.
